Daniel P. Kapsak is a native of Long Island, New York. He is licensed to practice law before the Colorado State Bar, and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.
Mr. Kapsak earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Relations from St. Joseph's College in New York, holds a Bachelor of Sacred Theology Degree and a Master of Divinity Degree from Loyola University, Chicago, and received his Juris Doctor from the Creighton University School of Law, Omaha, Nebraska.
Dan has maintained his own law practice since 1987, first in Omaha, Nebraska, and now in Colorado, as principal in The Kapsak Law Firm, LLC. He is an active member of the Colorado and Boulder Bar Associations, as well as the Boulder Bar Foundation. Mr. Kapsak is currently a member of the Boulder County Estate Planning Council as well as the Tax, Probate, and Trust Law Division of the Colorado and Boulder Bar Associations. He is a member of The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and serves on the Boulder County Adult Protection Review Team. Mr. Kapsak holds Certification as an Arbitrator through the Better Business Bureau.
Mr. Kapsak is published in Causes of Action (Shepard's/McGraw-Hill), the Colorado First Judicial District Newsletter, The Parenting Place, Front Range Living, Business Marketplace, Seniors Blue Book and Colorado Woman News. His speaking engagements on estate and elder law planning issues, end of life decision-making, and legal and medical ethical issues, have included the Longmont, Broomfield, Lafayette, Louisville, and Allenspark Senior Centers, the Longmont United Hospital, Mile Hi Church of Religious Science in Lakewood, St. Aiden’s Episcopal Church of Boulder, Faith Community Lutheran Church of Longmont, the Denver chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Salvation Army of Denver, and Seniors Speak radio show. Mr. Kapsak is a speaker with the National Business Institute on Ethics, Estate, and Medicaid Planning issues; his teaching experience includes the University of Illinois (Chicago) tutoring program; the Regis University School for Professional Studies; and The National Academy for Paralegal Studies.
A commitment to current issues in Bio-ethics complements his estate and elder law planning practice. He serves on the Ethics Committee for Longmont United Hospital, and has served on the End of Life Coalition through HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, and the CPR Taskforce in conjunction with the Ethics Committee of Boulder Community Hospital.
In the community, Mr. Kapsak is a member of the Rotary Club of Niwot, and is Vice President of the U.S. Rotary Fellowship Cycling to Serve. Over the years Mr. Kapsak has served as a member of the Denver Metro Legacy and Planned Giving Committee of the American Cancer Society, the Board of Directors of the Longmont YMCA, the Longmont Senior Achievement Board, the Longmont Interfaith Respite Caregivers, the Human Relations Commission for the City of Longmont, and the Gunbarrel/Niwot Business Association. Rounding it out, Dan continues to enjoy work as a occasional studio musician and participates in various theater groups as a musician and actor. He is an active fund-raiser for The Denver Children's Hospital Foundation through his support of and participation in its annual Courage Classic bicycle tour.
Mr. Kapsak is married to Cheryle Herbig-Kapsak who teaches at Summit Middle School in Boulder and is an Adjunct Professor for Regis University. They have three daughters: Gabrielle, Mary and Hannah.

John Estes brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm in the areas of Medicaid and public benefits through his work as a Regulatory Analyst in the Long Term Services and Supports Division of the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF). Mr. Estes provided clients through Boulder County Legal Services with assistance in public benefits, domestic abuse, landlord-tenant, and consumer protection matters. His knowledge and facility in Spanish brings an added depth to the firm’s effectiveness in working with bi-lingual and mono-lingual clients. Mr. Estes is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and member of its Elder Law and Trusts and Estates Sections.
He has drafted regulations for adoption by HCPF; co-authored a Public Benefits chapter for the Colorado Bar Association Domestic Relations Handbook, and presented at the 2013 Legal Assistance Provider’s Training Conference.
Mr. Estes is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. He is a graduate of Regis University in Denver with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics and International Business. He earned membership in the Jesuit Honor Society and was the recipient of the Joseph A. Ryan Award for excellence in Business Administration. Mr. Estes is licensed to practice law before the Colorado State Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.
Mr. Estes is married to Sarah Estes, and they have two dogs and two cats. Together, they enjoy hiking and training for endurance races.
